Ways to Be a Happier Person

resolution of mine this year is to be more happy. Happiness is something everyone wants to achieve; to be able to go through life and feel joy in everything you do and through everyone meet. Sometimes we let ourselves become very unhappy, filled with negative energy, and It is okay; happiness is not permanent feeling.  But we as people can work towards living a happier and positive life. With that being said, here are some ways to help be a happier person.

Care for Yourself, Mentally and Physically

The first step to becoming happier is to make sure your body in healthy both inside and out. That means making sure you are taking the time to ensure you are okay. Get better sleep, exercise more, eat a decent meal once in a while. Small changes like these can make a big difference in your mood and overall happiness. Nothing is more important than your mental and physical health. Take some time to do the things that make you happy and you will see yourself become happier.

Master the Art of Forgiveness

No one has ever been happy while holding a grudge. Sometimes bad things happen; people betray us, or things just do not go as planned. Remember that life will still go on and holding a grudge will not solve anything. Learn to let go feeling of vengeance and practice forgiveness. Holding in that grudge and constant anger will only leave a pitting feeling and build on an underlying unhappiness. So even when you feel like you can never let go, remember how much of a relief you simply took the time to understand and forgive.

Surround Yourself with Positive Energy

Being around positive and happy things is a good way to unconsciously stay positive. The more your surround yourself with people and things that make you happy, the happier you will eventually become. Learn to cut of the negativity from your life in order to continue progressing forward. If you cannot cut them off, learn to build tough skin and brush away those negative words and behaviors.

Worry Less, Smile Often

Smile! It is very simple and take little effort, yet very effective. So, even when there is no reason to do so, never forget to smile!
